VoIP much?
Isn’t it fun when acronyms start to be nested in other acronyms? I have had the pleasure of phoning a number of old friends with Voice over IP (Internet Protocol) using Skype Unlimited Calling. It has worked quite well for the most part, though some have complained about poor audio quality. Perhaps due to Internet latency, or perhaps from the battery getting low on my Bluetooth headset. When it works though, it’s so cool to not worry about long distance in all of North America.
Overflowing blessing
My excuse to pick up the phone is that I’m doing “partnership development” for my summer job with Campus Crusade for Christ. And let me tell you, it has been an amazing experience. So many people have blessed me with prayers, encouragement and financial support. In a short two weeks, more than 75% of the funding is already in.
God has proven that He does “open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”1
People have been so incredibly generous, and it has been great to catch up with people.
Ready, set, hold on a minute
While the remaining funds trickle (or perhaps gush) in, I am busily planning my trip to Langley, B.C. What a blessing to find accommodations within walking distance of the office, and with 5 other guys which should prove to be a blast!
Things are coming together, and I am anxious to get there and get started. For a number of reasons, my start date has been pushed back to May the 14th. So I still have time…
The other day I was reading the story of Noah. He didn’t depart from the ark on the first sign, or even when a dove came back with an olive branch. He waited for the voice of God, which was a month later. It was a good lesson in patience.
To cover all the costs, I am still holding out for another $900 to come in. To see my newsletter and further information, please look over the previous article: crusader.
A big thank you to everyone for your support and prayers!
