Trümmelbachfälle
09.09.05
This rainy afternoon I met up with Dana, and we headed to Trümmelbachfälle with his friend Judith and her daughter. Trümmelbachfälle is unique in that the waterfall is inside the mountain, yet you can walk around inside and see it. The waterfall is glacier fed from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.
After the waterfalls, Dana and I continued on to the Lauterbrunnen museum. There were many old tools and photos of people carrying water and hay bails down the mountain. It is pretty amazing what people are capable of.
Back at the Mountain Hostel, I decided to try something traditional. Cheese Fondue… little did I know that it contained alcohol. Woo, strong stuff. A kind gentleman recommended I let the alcohol burn off for a while.
I also met Claire who lives near Manchester, England — she too was travelling Switzerland with a 22 day Swiss Pass. She informed me that boat routes were covered with the Swiss Pass, and recommended a hostel in Gryon.
